So it has been about 2 weeks since I have written. Go figure! Anyway, our Christmas was great! We spent Christmas Eve snuggling on the couch watching movies, read the story of the First Christmas, and put J to bed on a pallet in our bedroom floor so that the elves could get to work assembling his gifts. Jerrett does not normally sleep in our room but since we have a split floor plan house, we wanted to be with him when he saw his Christmas gifts for the first time and he is a super early riser so we just wanted to all be together. Christmas morning was surprising calm. Jerrett was not super eager to get up and run and see his gifts. Instead he crawled into bed with me and TJ and Capone and we just laid there and talked for quite a while. It was great! We talked about the first Christmas and the gifts that baby Jesus got and then of course we talked about the Christmas train which has been a constant topic ever since we rode it. We finally got up and went to see our gifts. Santa brought Jerrett a tool bench, a fire truck like the one Uncle Don drives, and a race car track which was the one thing that J really wanted. Jerrett also got a basket of goodies from his Granny Blood and Gramps and a really awesome blue bean bag chair type thing for his room from his Papa and Nana. TJ and I opened up our stuff too. TJ got new dress pants and some dress shirts and I got maternity clothes. Yep nothing too exciting there! But what we needed I guess.
After gifts, we cooked up some Christmas breakfast then got ready for church in our new Christmas clothes. I will try to remember to put some pics on here next time. Jerrett looked cute all dolled up and TJ insisted that we take a pic of my growing belly. I have officially reached the halfway point in the pregnancy and have only put on about 5 lbs so doing pretty good and getting a little bit of a belly! After church we came home and had a simple lunch and took naps. After we all woke up, Jerrett played with his toys for a while and then helped make a birthday cake for Jesus and cook dinner. We had chicken ravioli. It was so good!
So that was our Christmas. On the 28 though we went to the dr for our ultra sound! We got to see little baby again. This was our 5 ultrasound with this baby and it looks like we will have at least one more. I can't really complain though because we all love getting to see the baby. I am so blessed to have such an amazing man as a husband. Other than some of the early appointments where all I had to do was go to the lab for blood work, TJ has been at every single dr appointment. Anyway, since TJ and I decided that we did not want to know the sex of the baby, we did not find that out but we did get to see a healthy wiggly little baby. Even J was in awe of it, although he said it looked more like a dinosaur! Jerrett goes back and forth as to what he thinks that the baby is going to be. Right now he is on a little brother kick but for the longest time it was a sister. We will see!
On to baby news, I have reached the halfway point. Still not looking very pregnant and not really feeling it either. I am so blessed to have had it easy in that regard. But I have started feeling the baby move some and we know that it is in there and healthy. That is all that matters. We have finally decided on the fabric and stuff for the bedding as well as a wall color and all that fun stuff. Although we are not finding out what we are having, my good friend is finding out for us. She will be the only one that knows and she is going to custom make our bedding for whichever sex we are having. We are actually pretty excited about doing it this way. TJ and I have decided on a black, white and red theme for either sex. And this coming weekend we are painting the room a really pretty silver color. Mom and Dad are going to buy our furniture for us and we have chosen a gorgeous black set that we love. I hope that the room will turn out the way that I have envisioned in my head!
Right now we are on to names. This is such a hard decision. TJ and I both want the name to be something strong and that has meaning, not just a name that we like but a name that will stand the test of time and really mean something. We both absolutely love old names that are slightly unusual. We just don't want our kids to have the same name as 3 other kids in their class. I had a brother who went through life as Chris M because there were so many other Chris's in his grade. I think that we have finally come up with a boy name and a girl name. The boy name was easy. It is a family name and one that we both really like. And no it is not Terry the third! TJ was adamant in not wanting to name a boy after himself. The girl name was a little harder. There are so many really pretty girl names that we like. It is hard to narrow it down to just one. We knew for a long time what the middle name was going to be so it was just a matter of deciding on what we wanted the first name to be and to make sure that it went with the middle. Now I think we have come to an agreement. TJ chose this name too! But we need to go ahead and finalize so that we can tell our friend the 2 we decide on as she is going to put it on some of the bedding and accessories. But for everyone else, like the sex of the baby, you will have to wait until the little one gets here to find out what we decided! We love surprises can you tell?
